Sammy today

"Dad ... how's it goin?"

"Well, Joel ... I'm going to WalMart on Wednesday ... on the van."

"Sounds like fun. You gonna shop?"

"No. I'm gonna get a pastrami sandwich."

"Hmmm. Are their sandwiches good?"

"Have you had one?"

"No. Not at WalMart."

"They are very good."

"Great. So what else has been happening?"

"I ate a reuben from Arby's."

"That's nice."

"Ever had a reuben from Arby's?"

"Um. No. I haven't."

"Oh you have to get one. They're advertising them every day you know?"

"I didn't know that."

"Don't you watch television?"

"Yes ..."

"I can't believe that you don't know about this."

"No ... I haven't heard about it."

"Do you know what a reuben is?"

"Yes dad."

"Did I tell you that we went to Bob Evans last week?"

Editorial note: By the way, I am writing a new novel with Sammy as the main character. Stay tuned for that one!
